PEORIA - William "Murray" Miller, 75, of Peoria passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
A memorial prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Peoria, with Msgr. Brian Brownsey, pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 2. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home in LaSalle.

Mr. Miller was born October 8, 1940, in Richmond, IN, to Gervus and Henryietta (Murray) Miller. He married Marie (Falkenthal) Tomlins on October 12, 2001, in Bloomington.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree and worked as an IT Specialist for State Farm Insurance.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Tomlins; two stepchildren, Gregory (Margaret Hanley) Tomlins and Margaret (Joseph Troglio) Tomlins, both of Peoria; ten step-grandchildren, Jack and Nick Glenn, Fiona, Edward, Ellen, Catherine, Tom and Paul Tomlins and Jonathan and Megan Troglio; a sister-in-law, Anita Miller of Winchester, TN; and three nephews, Mark, Jeffrey and Matthew Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Dewey Miller.
