Patrick Blue

Patrick David Blue, 43, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Kindred Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born April 24, 1977 to the late David and Carolyn (Null) Blue. He attended school in West Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1995. In 2006, he moved to Jamestown, North Carolina to complete his degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

For the past 14 years, Patrick worked as the bar manager and assistant general manager at Grill 584.  He was truly passionate about his profession and formed many deep friendships with his co-workers. But that’s no surprise, because he had the ability to befriend everyone he met and was fiercely loyal to those lucky enough to be loved by him. He cherished time spent with old friends, and was happiest camping with his Backlander crew at the annual Feast of the Hunter’s Moon at Fort Ouiatenon in Indiana. Patrick was also an avid Pittsburg Penguins fan, skilled mixologist, and brilliant yet underappreciated musician.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Blue (wife, Emily) of Lafayette, Indiana, and his four-legged friend, Sissy.

The family will be having a gathering to celebrate Patrick’s life from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Grill 584, 710 Huffman Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.  A celebration of Patrick’s life will also be held at a later date in Lafayette, Indiana. Please wear masks and use social distancing.
