Thomas James (T.J.) Slanec, Jr.
West Lafayette - Thomas James (T.J.) Slanec Jr. 69 of West Lafayette passed away peacefully at his residence at 11:54 am Tuesday August 11,2020. He was born in Normal, IL on February 9,1951 to the late Thomas James and Norma Kepplinger Slanec Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of West Lafayette High School and received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University. T.J. was a commercial underwriter for State Farm Insurance for 39 years. He was an avid sports fan and jokester. He loved gardening and cooking. He married Deborah L. Brown on September 5,1992 and she survives.
Surviving with is wife Deborah are a son Thomas J. Slanec III of Indianapolis, a daughter Lyndsey Slanec of Philadelphia, PA a sister Susan (John) Gleason of Pebble Beach, CA, brother in law Ron (Cheryl) Brown of West Lafayette, sister-in-law Carolyn Brown of Lafayette. Also surviving are grandchilden Mason Loew, and Jaxson Loew, nieces Laura King of Lafayette and Landra (Zach) Dimmich of Boswell, a nephew Chris Brown of West Lafayette, and great-nephews Branson and Haston Dimmich.
Private family entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
