Marion S. Clevenger, 87

Marion S. Clevenger, 87, of Lafayette, died at 5:45 AM Friday, October 21, 2011 at his residence.

He was born June 20, 1924, in Blackford County, to the late Charles and Edna Warren Clevenger.

He served in the United States Navy from November 6, 1942 to April 23, 1946.

He attended West Lafayette High School.

On June 1, 1958 he married Catherine Booth in Kokomo. She died July 14, 1985. He then married Helen Pullen in 1997 in Cutler. She died in August of 2009.

He had worked at Peerless Wire Goods and Lafayette Wire Products for 45 years before retiring in 2001.

He was a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed working, camping, watching sports on tv, playing cards and especially Euchre.

Surviving are a daughter Pamela Bowsher of Lafayette; two sons James Clevenger (wife Deb) of Lafayette and Paul Clevenger (wife Donna) of Dayton; 3 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 1 step great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, October 26 at Soller - Baker Lafayette Chapel with a funeral service at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 27 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
