Bernice Dull
Bernice J. (Beisel) Dull, age 92 of West Lafayette, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at University Place. Born December 16, 1919 in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Nevin S. and Amanda S. Ruch Beisel. Bernice graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1937, earned her Bachelor's Degree in Science from Purdue University in 1941 and later a Master's Degree in Science in 1963.

During and immediately following WWII she worked as an analytical chemist for National Cash Register Company in Dayton, Ohio. Bernice taught high school Chemistry and Mathematics in Texas and Indiana beginning in 1958 and retiring in 1980 from Harrison High School in West Lafayette as head of the Math Department. While working toward her Master's Degree at Purdue she was a teaching graduate assistant in Chemistry and following teaching she worked an additional 5 years with Purdue University's CINDAS program. She was a member of Federated Church in West Lafayette, Delta Gamma Sorority, Director of Senior Citizens Bridge Club at Morton School, volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital's Pharmacy for 16 years, and was president of Wabash Gardens Condominium Association. She had a lifelong love of tennis and duplicate bridge and enjoyed traveling, reading and solving crossword puzzles.

Surviving are two sons, David R. Dull of West Lafayette and Philip C. Dull (companion, Susan Vandament) of Lafayette; and a daughter, Deborah J. Heemstra (husband, Norman) of West Lafayette; one grandchild, Philip Tyler Dull and beloved former daughter-in-law, Sharon Dull. She was preceded in death by brother, Charles J. Beisel.

Visitation from 1- 2 p.m. Tuesday March 20th at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette. Service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jon Carlstrom officiating.
