Steve Pounders

Always charismatic, generous, and charming, Steve built a colorful life. Filled to the brim with fun-loving friends and gut-busting memories, he will live on through stories forever. Like a true artist, he was able to bring his ideas to life and share them with us. From the two headed sea monster constantly clattering above a hidden bar in the Yucatan to rough sketches on napkins for a new logo, he would drop whatever he was doing to assist in envisioning a new idea.

Steve was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in September 2017. The doctors couldn't tell us much about his type of cancer, or what could be done about it. We know few facts about it, but we know that is was fast-moving and aggressive. He never wanted anyone to worry about his condition, although it caused a lot of pain and physical discomfort in his life. Steve fought hard for his independence by living at home throughout his illness. He maintained hope for a future without cancer in his body. The pain Steve was dealing with is  unimaginable, but he handled it with such strength. He comforted his loved ones over their concerns for him in his time of need. He passed gracefully, yet tragically, on February 22nd. It is no exaggeration to say that we have lost one of the good ones. Without him my world will be much quieter, less colorful, and less pleasantly strange. As we move forward through quiet grief, remember he wanted celebration in his name, joyfulness, reminiscing of good times, and those to come.

We are collecting donations to help with the medical bills that relate to Steve's treatments and hospital stays. Any extra money will be donated to low income cancer patient support and/or research towards HPV positive carcinoma cancers. Thank you all for being a part of Steve's life. His laughter and love lives on in each of us through our memory. Let's keep that alive and let the good times roll.

REST IN PEACE STEPHEN POUNDERS
