Craig Moore Obituary
Craig Moore, 61, of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice at Weiss Memorial Hospital on August 17, 2016.

Born in Los Alamos, he moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ, Downey, CA and finally West Lafayette, IN. He graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1972 and Michigan State University in 1976. He eventually settled in Chicago where he completed Master's programs in Urban Planning and Policy and Computers/Telecommunications. After completing his degrees, he worked as an IT Support Manager with National Council of State Boards of Nursing. As a result of his hard work and dedication, Craig was named an honorary nurse by the Nursing Licensing Board of Arkansas.

Throughout his life, Craig pursued his love of travel, taking numerous trips to Italy to visit relatives and immersing himself in the language and culture. Craig also loved summer trips to Lake Tahoe, NV, spending time there with family as he did during his childhood.

Craig was active in the community throughout his 30 year residence in Chicago, a city that he loved. He was active in the Chicago Newton Chapter of Al-Anon, serving as a Board Member. He was also involved in the Chicago's Center on Halstead, a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community center.

Craig was also a devoted son. Leaving his career at the Nursing Board to support his mother, Mary Watts Moore, as her health declined; continuing to live with her and care for her until her death in 2014. Craig was also predeceased by his father, Bruce K. Moore, in 1987.
