Betsey (Risk) Fontaine

Elizabeth (Betsey) Barrett Risk Fontaine, 75, born in Lafayette, Indiana, died Monday, February 1st, (2016) at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. She was 75 years old.

Betsey's parents, Dr. Paul A. Risk and Elizabeth B. Risk, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers, Dr. Paul B. Risk (wife Fidelia) of Muncie and Dr. William B. Risk (wife Carol) of Lafayette. She was a graduate of West Lafayette High School and Purdue University. Betsey married Dr. Richard A. Fontaine in 1958 and they were together for sixteen years, he survives. She has three daughters, Annette Fontaine (husband Dana Hoggatt) of Danbury, CT, Lynet Fontaine of West Lafayette, and Monique Fontaine of West Lafayette. She was active in the community, an avid gardener, a regular listener of NPR, and enjoyed watching programs on PBS. She was loved spending time with her six grandchildren: Orion Furmanski, Jevan Furmanski, Jon Hoggatt, Daniel Hoggatt, Benjamin Hoggatt, and Sofia Ballotti. She had four great grandchildren: Courtanya Hoggatt, and Elsa, Carl and Soren Furmanski. No funeral or memorial service will be held at her request.
