Maureen (McConahay) Grady

Maureen Grady, 52, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 in her residence.
Born on February 21, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Michael Hugh and Ann Gail Schon McConahay. Her mother survives in Lafayette.

Maureen was married on May 5, 1984 to Tara Grady at the Blessed Sacrament Church in West Lafayette. He preceded her in death in 2003.

A graduate of West Lafayette High School in 1979, Maureen went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management. She worked in Revenue Management at St. Elizabeth for over 20 years.

She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a Boy Scout leader. In her free time, Maureen enjoyed doing handiwork, such as quilting and needlepoint, and she played the dulcimer. She loved the color purple, and she enjoyed jokes and laughing.

Maureen is survived by her two sons, Aaron Grady of Indianapolis and Nicholas (Jessica) Grady of Lafayette; and her two sisters, Carolyn (Jon) Dunn of Hoover, Alabama, and Linda (Jack) LaDuke of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Joseph LaDuke.

Funeral Information

 

Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Salemink officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in rural Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Little Red Door Cancer Agency in memory of Maureen. Envelopes will be available at the church.
