John Van Camp



John Kenneth Van Camp, 78, of Lexington, husband of Carolyn McCabe Van Camp, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006.

Born June 30, 1927, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of John Lloyd and Helen Cain Van Camp. He graduated from West Lafayette High School in West Lafayette, Ind., attended Purdue University, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. An avid golfer, he was president of Data List Associates prior to retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Lee, Denver, Colo., and Victoria Van Camp, Lexington; four grandchildren, Laura Free, Ithaca, N.Y.; Brad Free, Tucson, Ariz.; John G. Lossen, Lexington, and Kate Lossen Salyer, Lexington; a step-grandson, Joseph Lossen, Versailles; a step-great-granddaughter, Abby Lossen; and two sisters, Beulah Wuestenfeld, Columbus, Ind., and Barbara Marshall, Jupiter, Fla.

Burial was Monday, March 6, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville in a private ceremony. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
