George O. Dietrich Jr., 76, Anderson, died July 24, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born February 10, 1927, in Mulberry and lived in the Anderson area for the last 12 years.
He was a 1945 graduate of West Lafayette High School.He received his bachelor of science degree in 1949 and his masters degree in 1956 from Ball State University.
He served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
He was a teacher/coach for Daleville, Steinsville and Cadiz schools and principal for the Orland and North Vermillion school systems, and a scout for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
He was a member of the American Legion and Alexandria Eagles.In the early 1950s, he formed a summer softball team for high school aged girls.
