Sharon Data

Sharon Patricia Data, 60, passed away Jan. 16, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, from the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home of Sparta, with interment to follow at Taylor's Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 19, from 5-9 p.m.

Ms. Data was a graduate of West Lafayette High School in Indiana, received her bachelor's degree in political science from Purdue University and her law degree from Northwestern University. She passed the bar and practiced law in Illinois before moving to White County in the '90s. Once she moved to Tennessee, Ms. Data passed the Tennessee bar and established a successful law practice in Sparta.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Joann L. Data and Herman A. Cantrell of California; first cousins, Peter Data, Paul Data and Janice Mueller, all of Michigan, and Richard Marcellus of Minnesota; and her beloved pets, Itsy, Inky and Zeke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Batiste and Grace E. Karr Data; and brothers, James Data.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the White County Humane Society, PO Box 194, Sparta, TN 38583, or the Legal Aid Society, 300 Deadrick St., Nashville, TN 37201.
