Lowell H. Spencer

Lowell H. Spencer, 38, a former West Lafayette resident, died at 2 p. m. Monday in Northwestern Illinois Community Hospital, Galena, Ill., after a brief illness.

He was born at Boston, Mass. He was a 1967 graduate of Indiana University where he later received his masters. He lived for a time at West Lafayette and later at Chicago. He moved to Galena one and one-half years ago. Mr. Spencer was a private consultant and a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

His mother, Mrs. Louisa Spencer of West Lafayette, died in April.

Surviving are a son, Matthew Spencer of Chicago; and one brother, Harold L. Spencer of San Francisco, Calif.

Memorial services will be Aug. 22 at Galena.

Lowell H. Spencer, 38, 501 Dewey Ave., Galena, and formerly of Chicago, died Monday, Aug. 10 at Galena-Stauss Hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Grace Episcopal Church at 11 a. m. Burial will be in the church yard cemetery.

Lowell was born on Nov. 3, 1942 in Boston, Mass. and spent most of his life in the Lafayette, Ind. and Chicago areas. He has lived in Galena since March of 1980. He was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his son, Matthew, of Elmhurst and one brother, Harold, of San Francisco, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul L. and Sarah Paul Spencer.

Memorials may be given to the Grace Episcopal Church.
Furlong Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
