Michael E. Wisma, 51, of West Lafayette, died Saturday, May 15, 2011, at his residence. He was born April 7, 1960, in Lafayette, to the late Robert and Betty Boys Wisma. He was a 1978 graduate of West Lafayette High School and received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2007. He was assistant professor of management at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer and was voted "Best Teacher of the Year 2011" by the students. He also had taught organization and leadership classes at Purdue University for the past 10 years. Also, he was a certified purchasing manager for the Institute for Supply Chain Management and authored the book "Supply Chain Modeling: A Case Study of Relationship Attributes." He was published in numerous academic journals. Surviving are his wife, Tina M. Wisma of West Lafayette; two daughters, Ashlia Maria Wisma and Alexa Jean Wisma, both of West Lafayette, a sister, Rita McLaughlin of Florida; and two brothers, Edwin Wisma (wife: Jacki) of Johnstown, Ohio, and Steve Wisma (wife: Michele) of Florida. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by niece, Sabryna Wisma. Mike loved spending time with his family and his dog, Mo, and will be greatly missed. Memorial visitation will be Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Memorial mass at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Father David Buckles officiating.
