Kathi was my best friend in Jr and Sr high school. She was living in Raleigh, NC at the time of her death in October, 2000. She had been misdiagnosed and when she finally was diagnosed with inflamatory breast cancer it had already spread. It was an agressive kind of breast cancer.
ReplyDeleteKathi went to Maryville College in TN after high school. She was to be a music major, she had a beautiful voice. She instead switched her major to deaf interpretation when there many hearing impaired people at her college. After graduating college, she worked free lance interpreting for the deaf.
Kathi and I called each other every few weeks, we still were best friends. I miss her voice. I still often think I can just pick up the phone and call her and laugh about things. She was a good person, loved life and found humor in many things. I miss her deeply. Cathy Baker Kissel
