Daniel Anthony Montes 40. Our beloved husband, father, and son, Dan, of Fishers, passed away on September 16, 2004, just shy of his 41st birthday on September 28. As a young boy, his Little League Team went to the 1975 State Championships. He later attended Indiana State and Purdue University. During his full life, he served his country as an Army Ranger. He was awarded the Army's Medal of Achievement, with a certificate, along with accommodations for his leadership ability. While attending West Lafayette High School, he lettered in baseball, tennis and basketball. His leadership abilities allowed him to lead his high school baseball, tennis and basketball teams to All-Conference Titles. His experience and love of the game were valuable as he coached his four sons in various sports. As an adult he continued to play in recreational leagues and was known for his "jump shot". He also enjoyed a great game of golf. Dan was an avid Chicago sports fan. As a well-respected landscape architect, Dan worked for several landscaping companies before establishing his own company, Enhancement Grounds Care, Inc. He truly enjoyed working outdoors and creating a beautiful lawn that was the envy of the neighborhood. He took great pride in everything he accomplished. Preceding him in death were his beloved grandparents, Mary and Danny DeLucia; and his dog, Jesse. Dan's family was his whole life, and he will be dearly missed by his wife, Teresa (Broshears); and his four sons, Jordan, 18; Taylor, 11; Matthew, 10; and Daniel, 7. He is also survived by his parents, Joe and Joan (Cicio) Montes; sister, Cindy Martin of Richardson, TX; brother, Joey Montes of St. Louis, MO; and brother, Mike Montes of Plano, TX. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and two great-aunts. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 19 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, with service there at 10 a.m. Monday, September 20. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montes Family Fund, co any Bank One.
