DANIEL W. COWGER

Daniel W. Cowger, 20, of 2001 Happy Hollow Road, WL, a former West Lafayette high school athlete, died in his sleep early this morning. His death is still under investigation.

He was born in Lafayette and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cowger.

Young Cowger would have been a senior at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N. Y., this fall.

He was a member of Federated Church and a 1971 graduate of West Lafayette High School.

While in high school, he played basketball and was co-captain of the team in 1971. He received the Lafayette Exchange Club Sportsmanship Award in his senior year and was a member of the American Legion Post 492 baseball team.

He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, both in high school and at college.

Surviving with his parents are a brother, Thomas W., and two sisters, Susan J. and Letitia A., all at home.
