Phillip Schuder dies; landscaper

Services for Phillip R. Schuder 39, Cincinnati, formerly of Indianapolis, will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Soller-Baker Westside Chapel, Lafayette, with calling from 4 P.M. until time of services. He died Thursday in Mercy South Hospital, Fairfield, Ohio. Since 1979, he was a professional on the staff of the University of Cincinnati, where he was in charge of campus design and maintenance. He graduated from Purdue University in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. He worked for the city of Indianapolis Zoning and Planning Commission from 1973-1976. He then worked as an architect for Floyd Bass Nursery from 1976-1979. He was on the executive board of Indianapolis Landscape Association of Nursery Men from 1977-79. In 1981 he was approved as a full member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He was registered as a professional architect in Indiana in1984. He served in the Army from 1965-1968 and was sergeant during the Vietnam War as a member of the First Air Calvary. He was born in Columbus and lived here about six years. Survivors: wife Anne D.
