Paula J. (Salen) Scheckel, 53, died Saturday at home in Fort Wayne, IN.
Born in Bloomington, she was a second grade teacher at Roanoke
Elementary and made her career in teaching with a specialty in the
sciences. She was a member of the National Education Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Erin Oechsle of Fort Wayne; son, Keith
W. Smith of Fort Wayne; sister, Debbie Tripp of Cincinnati; parents,
George and Dolores Salen of Sarasota, FL. Services 7 p.m. Friday at
D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd.
Calling 4 to 7 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorials to Roanoke Elementary Science Department.
