MARTHA V. SCHILLING
Martha Vera “Marty” Schilling died of breast cancer on March 30, 2011 at her home in West Lafayette, IN following a three months illness. Born in Lafayette, IN on April 5, 1951, she was the granddaughter of the late James C. White and Vera Wynkoop White who were originally from Benzie and Leelanau counties. Her aunt Dorothy Edwards, and her two uncles Jack White and Col. R. J. White, each of Kingsport, TN also predeceased her.
Marty was a long-time summer resident of Glen Lake. For several years she owned and operated a professional photography studio in Traverse City, and created a successful family portraiture business covering a wide area.
She is survived by her parents George T. Schilling and Barbara White Schilling of West Lafayette, IN, her daughter Kate White Schilling of Indianapolis, her sister Carolyn S. Gery (husband Michael E. Gery) of West Lafayette, her brother George White Schilling of Kingsley, MI, her nephew Michael S. Gery of West Lafayette, and her uncle Dr. Richard J. Schilling (wife Barbara) of Glen Arbor, MI.
