James Robert “Jim” McElheny

James Robert “Jim” McElheny, 60, died June 29, 2009, at the Miami VA Hospital.  He was born in Chicago and lived in the Stuart area for many years, coming from West Lafayette, Ind.  He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Constellation.  He was a landscape architect whose work took him up and down the east coast of Florida.  He was a Master Mason and a member of Acacia Lodge 163, Amara Shrine and the Treasure Coast Parrot Head Club.  He was a graduate of Purdue University.  Survivors include his sons Ron McElheny of Redding, Calif., and Tim McElheny of York, Neb.; companion Judy Kasten; sister Pat Griffin of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and three grandchildren.  SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. July 9 at Acacia Lodge 163 in Stuart.  Arrangements are by Neptune Society in Pompano Beach.
