Harry Bledsoe Jr., 61

Harry Bledsoe Jr., 61, of Russiaville, died at 5:07 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, in the emergency room of Howard Regional Health System.

Born July 20, 1950, in Norfolk, Va., he was the son of the late Harry and Amelia Jane Bryant Bledsoe Sr.

He was a 1968 graduate of West Lafayette High School. He earned a degree in biomedical engineering from Purdue University. He served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972 achieving the rank of E-5 Petty officer 2nd Class.

On Nov. 26, 1980, in Russiaville he married Jean Ellen Mock, and she survives.

Mr. Bledsoe was a director of clinical engineering at Howard Regional Health Systems for 31 years.

He was an avid casino lover.

Surviving with his wife of Russiaville are his children, Brandon (Jamie) Bledsoe of Kokomo, Amelia (Larry) Corne of Kokomo, Katherine (Ben) Martin of Russiaville and Nickolas Bledsoe and his life partner Michael Terry of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, Brayden, Bryson, Briley, Mark, Travis, Levi, Makayle, Shylah, Eve and Ava; a sister, Harriet (Marvin) Hinkle of Decatur; brother-in-law, Roger (Carol) Mock of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Barbara Mock of Kokomo; and father-in-law, Duane (Judy) Mock of Kokomo. Preceded in death by 1 nephew.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Stout and Son Funeral Home Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at the funeral home, the Rev. Gary Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Russiaville Cemetery with Military rites by the Kokomo VFW.
