Dennis graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1967. He lettered in varsity football and swiming two years. He attended Ball State University one quarter before enlisting in the Marine Corps on March 28, 1968. 

He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and was a Life Scout in Troop 8.

  1. I grew up with Denny and his brothers, and played defensive end next to his defensive tackle for a year in high school when we started our 16-game unbeaten streak. We called our own stunts and crosses and had some success. He was a good man who is remembered by a special trophy and award each year at the annual football banquet.
